Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Projects such as hotels, glampings, agritourism ventures, hostels, restaurants, wine bars, wine tourism initiatives, among others. The most important aspect is that the concept is viable, sustainable, and distinctive. We always assess whether it fits within the available support schemes — such as Portugal 2030 (a national public fund) and regional funds.

Yes. Many of our clients are foreigners. Your company must be established in Portugal, but that’s part of the process — and we assist at every stage. From choosing the most suitable legal structure to applying for financial support.

Yes. In fact, we recommend starting with us before creating the company. This way, we ensure that all eligibility criteria are met — including the selection of the economic activity code (CAE), legal form, location, and so on.

We offer a free initial assessment. If the project has potential, we explain the available support programs and the next steps. We help make it viable and ensure it meets the funding criteria

It depends on the type of support. Some programs start at €25,000, while others require investments above €300,000. It all depends on the nature of the investments (infrastructure, equipment, technology, etc.) and the geographical location (North, Central Portugal, Alentejo, Lisbon, and Algarve).

Yes. We provide full support, from the initial idea to the final implementation of the project. We develop the business plan, prepare the application, and manage the entire licensing process (if the client wishes). We represent the client in meetings with public entities such as Turismo de Portugal, AICEP, and other relevant bodies. When necessary, we also assist in securing private funding through institutional and private investors. After the financial incentive is approved, we continue to support the project’s implementation, handling payment requests and submitting the required reports throughout the 2 to 3 years typically covered by the support programs.

Yes. We can structure the financing using business angels, venture capital, and bank loans to complement public grants. We have extensive experience with projects that involve multiple funding sources.

No. Most of the process can be handled remotely. We organize online meetings, manage the documentation, and represent the client locally when needed. Only in the final stages (such as construction or licensing) might it be helpful to come to Portugal — and we also provide support at that stage.

No. Typically, public programs provide an initial advance of around 10% of the approved amount. The remaining funds are paid through reimbursements, as expenses are incurred and submitted.

These reimbursement requests are submitted periodically (usually every two months) to the funding entity.

For example, in a €5 million project with a 40% incentive, if a €1 million invoice for equipment is submitted, the funding entity will reimburse €400,000 corresponding to that expense.

Then, as new invoices arise, we can continue submitting reimbursement requests until the approved amount is fully reached.
