Support for tourism activities

Turismo de Portugal’s “ Qualificação da oferta ” helpline is intended for tourism projects based:

– in the requalification and repositioning of enterprises, establishments, and activities, or

– in the creation of enterprises, establishments and activities implemented in low density territories, or that are related to entrepreneurship.

 

In order to access this helpline, tourism companies must provide investments in environmental management and accessibility.

The amount of funding may not exceed 80% of the eligible investment and the participation of Turismo de Portugal has a limit of EUR 1.5 million.

 

Financing Structure

For small and medium-sized enterprises, the financing structure is as follows:

40% is financed by Turismo de Portugal (The portion of Turismo de Portugal does not earn interest)

60% is financed by the Credit Institution (will have an interest associated according to the risk attributed by the bank)

 

And in the case of special projects (startups or SMEs):

75% is financed by Turismo de Portugal

25% is funded by the Credit Institution

 

Special projects are considered:

– Entrepreneurship projects, with a maximum eligible investment of €500,000, promoted by small or medium-sized enterprises to be created or created less than two years ago, related to tourism projects, equipment, or activities – CAE Groups 931 and 932 – and services associated with the tourism sector, with particular focus on technology-based enterprises.

– Projects to be implemented in low density territories.

 

Financing deadline

The maximum term of funding is 15 years, including a maximum grace period of 4 years.

 

Performance award

All investment projects covered in this Line, provided that they meet specific targets to be assessed in the third full year of operation, will now be able to benefit from a performance prize translated into the conversion into non-reimbursable support of a part of the financing component allocated by Turismo de Portugal.
